Letter to the WACFA Family
9 Jun 2017 by Hannah Harris-Brown
It is with great sadness we inform you that Tristan Ivey, an active member of the WACFA community passed away, it appears he took his own life.
Tristan was actively involved in WACFA for many years, he played for a number of years with Southern Force before joining the Armadale Men’s team, and more recently returned to Southern Force as a coach/player.
As a sign of respect, and by way of remembrance, we will hold a minutes silence this Saturday 10th June 3pm on Pitch 2 at Maida Vale.
This is obviously a very traumatic time for many who have been impacted by Tristan’s life and also for the wider Christian family, if you would like to talk to someone please contact your club Chaplain or the WACFA Chaplain who will be able to support you through this difficult time.
Tristan attended Life City Church, Canning Vale where he was a Youth Pastor. Life City Church have put a communication on their church website (http://www.lifecity.church/home) this includes a document with valuable advice and support for those dealing with grief.
Tristian’s tragic death has been felt throughout the community and there are many questions that will be asked. Let us join in prayer to ask for compassion and wisdom and God’s grace over us all as we walk through the grieving process which is especially painful given the possible nature of Tristan’s death.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Tristan’s family, fiancée and friends.
We will keep you informed of any further details as they arise.
